The Phases Series
The Phases Series is built on Otto Lundbladh’s belief that art should feel intuitive and inviting, not complicated. Each piece is crafted to engage the viewer both visually and intellectually, allowing for personal interpretation rather than imposing a predetermined meaning.
Rooted in the present moment, Lundbladh’s process is guided by mood, intuition, and observation. Shapes, colors, and composition come together through an instinctive creative flow, resulting in works that feel both deliberate and organic. Faces are central to the series. Fascinated by people and expression, Lundbladh views the face as a reflection of identity beyond the eyes alone, layered, expressive, and open to interpretation.
The series reimagines old master portraiture through contemporary digital collage techniques, transforming classical imagery into modern reflections on self-representation. While tools evolve from painted portraits to mirrors and selfies, the fascination with the self remains unchanged.
Each artwork is presented as a 100 × 100 cm print in a limited edition of 150.
The Printing Process
The printing of The Phases employs the Giclée method, a French term meaning "to spray." This process utilizes a sophisticated inkjet printer with fine spraying mechanisms to reproduce colors, producing high-quality prints accurately. Each piece is printed on Rauch Fine Art 310g, a superior natural white PhotoArt paper known for its vivid color saturation and neutral color rendition. It's also acid-free, ensuring long-lasting archival quality. The artworks are centrally printed on sheets measuring about 105.5x105.5cm.
The Authentication
Each print is individually signed by the artist Otto Lundbladh and features a unique combination of DNA and micro point codes. The DNA signatures are officially recorded in the Swedish Anti-Theft Association (SSF) database. Each artwork provides a letter of authenticity and a DNA signature certificate, ensuring each piece's provenance and uniqueness.
